Why I hate....

Central City, CO. So I had to come out here for a job. Let me tell you, it could not be any worse. CC, CO is a casino town. 8 casinos in just blocks, and seriously nothing else but 1 antique store and a pot shop. I am only 20 years old, therefore no casinos or bars for me. I work 6 days a week ( thank god) and when I come home, I go for a hike, but thats it, nothing else for me to do. The closest supermarket is 20 miles away, the closest movie theater is 30, hell the closest mall is 45 miles away. I am just bored and going crazy.

Why I hate being friendly...

I hate it... because I don't think it works both ways. I guess I should explain myself, Over the past month I have realized a majority of people I am "friends" with, disappear if I don't talk to them. Am I really that annoying to talk to? I dont think so... Countless "friends" don't contact me, I have to send them a text first, I have to call them, or send them a facebook post etc. Have you ever had a one sided friendship? It kinda sucks... When I hang out with these people, we have a great time. Then we part ways and I wont hear from them until I take my phone out and send them a message. This post feels rumbly, but I had to get some things off my chest because I cant express to the friends who dont text me because I am trying a new thing, I am not texting anyone until they text me, I've tried and tried... It's their turn!

Why I love 12:01 AM

90% of my most memorable experience while in college have occurred after midnight. There is just something about late night that make people a little more excitable. Now some exposition as to where I go to school, It is in bumble shit PA. Don't let my choice of words fool you, I enjoy it; I go to a school in a place where, when you park at Walmart, there is a good chance a horse and buggy will pull up next to you. Now that you have a mental picture, let me tell you about last night....

We started at Walmart around 11 PM, while walking to buy some last minute school supplies we noticed an Amish family walking in front of us. My friend turned to me

"Its late, shouldn't they be asleep? They have to milk cows or something in the morning."

Now I am not one to make fun of people different from me... but I chuckled. The Amish family did not find it as entertaining, they turned around and responded

" We lost our last cow this morning thanks to the poor air quality in this area, please say a prayer."

We were eating our words! We apologized and moved on to the school supplies. After obtaining our school supplies we stopped by Dennys for a late night snack. Bad Idea.

While sitting down we saw;

A hooker and her trick order 4 burgers... and finish each of them.
A women sneaking small pieces of food into her purse. Assumedly for her dog?
A waiter drop a glass, get annoyed and kick it across the floor
A man and his "daughters" but ended up kissing each of them drunkly

surprisingly this list goes on, but once again... as a college student I have to finish reading "Tales of the Lost Formicans" (don't recommend that) and a paper for Database Analysis.

Why I dislike Sex.

Don't get me wrong, the gratification during the act is great. It is the thoughts before and after that throw me off. For example, we are celebrating our 1 year anniversary tommorrow, now before I go any further I should explain that I attend college two hours away from my lover, so we rarely get a chance to make the bed shake, but I am home for winter break and we have seen each other around 5 days every week, and I have been home 3 weeks, so about 15 times we have been together. Ask me how many times we have had sex. three times. Now, that may work for some people, but when your used to a summer of constant play time, one has to wonder... what happened? Could our libidos really be leaving us at the ripe age of 19? or is there something wrong with our relationship?

See what I mean? when we have sex It's great, but all the energy I put into thinking about why we dont do it more often is not so great. Of course I could be on the other end of the spectrum. Having to much sex. Even then I would still over analyze the frequency. This leads me to my ultimate point/question.

Can you judge the health of a relationship based on the frequency of sex?

Why I enjoy Christmas...

Well even though the blog just started, you had to assume there would be a christmas post! Originally I was going to go on and on about my day, but I realized that there are more important and cooler things to talk about. Like the polite people I met ... well yesterday....

It was christmas eve, and of course I had to do some last minute running around. 3 place, I figured it shouldn't take more than 2 hours. I knew I had to be home by 3 to make it to church by 330. So I left my house around 11 to go to Red Robins and gets some gift cards. The lady at the front was so friendly, yet the people she was helping at the time gave her more crap than your estranged aunt gives to you on christmas about why your single... I'm not bitter I swear. Anyways, she sat the annoyed guests and returned to her host desk to find a 20 dollar bill with the word smile written on it. Who Placed it there? well it sure as hell wasn't me. It turned out to be the younger son of the bitchy family, he placed it after the family had waddled to their booth. I guess some times the apple does fall far from the tree.

Then I had to go to Wegmans... It was SO crazy, people were parked in the most obscure locations. Once inside the mayhem was continues around every turn. But everyone was polite... It seemed no one wanted the "right of way" at intersections, everyone was giving up the last of items to other customers. Everyone had smiles on and no one seemed to mind if they were caught up for a couple more minutes.

It just goes to show you, that even in today's busy world, a simple holiday can transform even the coldest of asses, into people of gold!

Why I am amazed with The Lost Symbol

So I am currently reading Dan Brown's "The Lost Symbol" and I can not believe how many symbols are in our everyday lives. I am sure if you have at some point in your life been told to look at a dollar bill and share what you see. The most talked about symbol is the pyramid. The Pyramid is UN-capped, again signifying that we were not even close to being finished.

What I like most about the book though, is the nice blend of character development, plot, and factual information. I feel like I'm reading a book somewhere between a text book and twilight. which in my opinion is REALLY enjoyable!

Why I Appreciate Friendliness

I got the call at 3:30 today, my manager asked me to cover a shift. This is one of the worst situations to be in... Do you...
A) Say no, and risk having a pissed off manager.
or
B) suck it up and say yes, forgoing any plans you already had.
(see any economics text book and look up "opportunity cost" it will change your life)
I ultimately choose B and went into work. I am glad I did. I don't know what it was, maybe the holidays, maybe my new cologne, but every table I had left me between a 25 to 35 percent tip. Not only did I do well monetarily tonight but every customer was friendly, including the man with the six toes. ( I know this face because he felt it necessary to explain his dilemma for 10 minutes while i served his food). Even the customer who had to wait 5 minutes while i slowly walked his filled to the top martini glass to his table every time he ordered a new one (4 times). Friendliness goes a long way in any service industry. Try it out for size, you might like the result.
